About Us

We are Texas owned and operated. Our donkeys are Sicilian miniature donkeys and stand between 30 inches and 32 inches in height. Canyonwood Minis is located out of Dripping Springs, Texas in the heart of the hill country. Our female donkeys are calm, friendly, engaging and love pretzels! We are thrilled to offer you something different for your special event.

If your event venue requires it, we are TABC licensed, certified, and insured.

A 50% nonrefundable deposit is due the day of booking. Full payment is due 30 days before the event and is nonrefundable. Refunds are allowed only in the event of a donkey, illness, inclement, weather, or poor road conditions. Events outside of the Dripping Springs area will require a travel fee.

What can I expect the day of my event?

Your donkeys will arrive 45 minutes to an hour before your event at the designated area, dressed, cleaned up and decorated ready to greet your guests. Before your event, our handler will reach out to you and your event coordinator or venue staff to confirm the location of the beverages and ice.

Who is responsible for the beer?

The venue or client provides all ice and alcohol, we do not sell beverages.
Our beer burro handlers are TABC certified for the safety of your guests.

What happens if the donkeys make a mess?

Our donkeys rarely make a big mess, our handlers have equipment to clean up messes quickly and efficiently.

Who provides the flowers for the donkeys?

We provide all flowers and can coordinate to match the bride/theme of the event.

How much can a donkeys carry?

Donkeys carry about 20% of their weight on flat, even ground. We only allow 30 to 40 pounds ( 10–12 beers with ice on each side). We can have our donkeys carry all kinds of interesting items. Anything from party favors, corporate materials, liquor, wine, etc.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have a commercial policy and have TABC certification.

Is flash photography allowed?

Yes! Our donkeys love to be in photos!
